Bronx residents Muhammad Aadil and 18-year-old Ronei Harris were indicted in connection with the murder of 46-year-old Lutalo Henderson, whose body was found dismembered and burned near the border of Yonkers and Mount Vernon on Monday, Aug. 5, Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark announced on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
According to Clark's office, between Saturday, July 27, and Aug. 5, the duo acted together and killed Henderson following a dispute in the home he shared with Aadil.
The two suspects allegedly cut off his legs below the knees, his hands, and removed his jaw before wrapping his torso in trash bags and taking it on a Metro North train in a shopping cart.
The suspects then arrived in Yonkers and set the cart on fire under the Oak Street Bridge, officials said.
Investigators later recovered Henderson's body parts in a Bronx apartment on Rogers Place.
Aadil, who was arraigned on Monday, Sept. 23, was charged with:
- Second-degree murder;
- First-degree manslaughter;
- Concealment of a human corpse
- Criminal possession of a firearm;
- Five counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance;
- Fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Following his arraignment, Aadil was remanded. He will again appear in court on Thursday, Dec. 19.
Meanwhile, Harris will be arranged at a later date.
Clark condemned the duo's alleged actions, calling it "brutal disregard for a human being."
